The Elephant in the Room

We meet Sundays @ 9:00a & 11:00a
(NEW SCHEDULE STARTING 11/23 - ONE SERVICE 10:00a)

Elephant in the Room is a six-week sermon series that dares to confront the topics many churches avoid but every believer needs to face. From favoritism and exclusivity in church culture, to politics, sexuality, generosity, modern idolatry, and the return of Christ, this series brings biblical clarity and gospel-centered conviction to the conversations shaping our lives. Each week exposes an “elephant” that quietly undermines our witness, and replaces it with the truth and grace of Jesus. Grounded in Scripture and guided by the Holy Spirit, this series calls the church to repentance, renewal, and courageous love—so that our community becomes not a safe haven for the comfortable, but a mission outpost for the redeemed.

In Week Six of Elephant in the Room, we tackle one of the most uncomfortable yet transformative topics in the Christian life — giving.

This message reminds us that God doesn’t need our money; He desires our trust. True giving is not about loss but lordship — a visible declaration that Jesus reigns over every area of our lives, including our wallets. From Malachi 3:8–12, Matthew 6:19–34, and 2 Corinthians 8–9, we learn that generosity begins with worship, grows through wisdom, and flows into Kingdom impact. Giving is not just financial; it’s spiritual formation. It reorders our loves, trains our hearts, and builds our faith.

We'll see that tithing is a starting line, not a finish line, and that the discipline of firstfruits giving breaks the power of greed and fear. With Scripture, statistics, and stories of grace, we explored how a biblical financial game plan—budgeting, debt freedom, planned generosity, and joyful stewardship—can turn every dollar into a declaration of devotion. The call is clear: God isn’t after our money; He’s after our transformation. When we give cheerfully, wisely, and sacrificially, we reflect the heart of a generous Savior who “did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all” (Romans 8:32).

There's a Place for YOU!!!

Our prayer is that you find real, genuine people at The Rock. Together, we seek the truth of the Word and a deeper relationship with the Lord. In our interaction with the SRCC family, we strive to walk in honesty, transparency, and love.  At The Rock you will find a place where you can come as you are...a place where the less-than-perfect (that’s all of us!) are more than welcome.

Solid Rock Community Church is a place where people can meet Jesus,  engage in life-giving community, and everyone is welcome. We believe in creating a space where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, discover their gifts and use them for God's glory. Join us for our Sunday services!
